In the book, The Road, a father and son are on a journey through post-apocalypse. While the readers explore the terrain, the author explores what makes a family. By the end, however, we see that a family is more than blood when the Dad dies due to unknown conditions, (Not Age, nor sickness,) leaving the boy alone with a new family, who adopt him as their own. This book reminds me of the book Don't Close Your Eyes by Lisa Mcmann, not because of the story, but because of the familiar writing style. I fell in love with the short stops and altered writing, and stayed for the diverse and alluring plot lines. The similarities I see in the world today is the unconditional bond in family during disasters.
I'm going to comment on Peter and Bre's posts

What is Don't Close Your Eyes? Are there any specific texts between the book and Don't Close Your Eyes that you can give examples of?
